THE RS200 – HEAR IT ROAR!

Arrow Mach 2 Racing’s entry of its Ford RS200 into this year’s Pikes Peak Race to the Clouds is already attracting huge media and spectator interest, with a crowd gathering at the event’s technical inspections once the 840bhp engine roared into life.

The British Arrow Mach 2 Racing (AM2R) team spent yesterday with all other competitors for the Pikes Peak challenge at the technical inspection for all entrant vehicles. As soon as the Ford RS200 had its formidable 2.4 litre 840bhp engine gunned into life - purpose built by Mountune Racing’s BDT specialist, Geoff Page – crowds and competitors alike started to gather around the formidable machine.

Alan Greenwood, AM2R manager, commented: “Abundant horsepower and the four-wheel drive in the RS is exactly what you need in this true celebration of horsepower, which is the Pikes Peak event. And the turbo charger fitted almost needs planning permission it’s so big! Designed with these altitudes in mind the special T4-based Garrett unit spins to 168,000rpm, producing a 2 bar boost. No wonder this monster is already attracting interest.
